Teachers use Boost to turn a lesson into a classroom game. Students join from a link or QR code in their browser. Here's everything your network needs to let them play.
| Domain (HTTPS, port 443) | What it's for | Needed? |
|---|---|---|
| boostplatform.app | The Boost website, the games, and the Boost API (boostplatform.app/api) | Required |
| boost-platform-bucket.s3.us-west-1.amazonaws.com | Pictures teachers upload, and stock pictures saved to Boost | Required |
| res.cloudinary.com | Pictures in older games | Required |
| images.unsplash.com | Stock photos from Unsplash | Required |
| www.youtube.com | Only for games with a YouTube video in them | Optional |
If your filter takes wildcards, *.boostplatform.app also covers any Boost address we add later. Older Boost emails may link to boostplatform.app:3001; students never need it.
Please file Boost under Education. In GoGuardian, that's Educational Games or K-12 Education. Boost isn't an “Online Games” site: every game is a lesson a teacher made for their class.
If your filter has boostplatform.app as “Uncategorized” or “Games,” use its “Suggest a category” option, or let us know and we'll ask the vendor.
Our test page checks every domain above from the device you open it on, then tells you what (if anything) is blocked. It needs no login and loads no trackers. Teachers can run it too and send you the results.
Run the network checkEmail us at contact@boostplatform.app. Include the results from the network check and we'll help you sort it out.
